Malibu has always been home for me. I’ve been coming here since I was
young, and for the last three decades I’ve lived by the ocean. But there’s
something I’ve always noticed: Malibu style can feel... a little too undone.
You could never quite tell if someone was a surfer, a local, or a homeless
person. Comfort was everywhere, but elegance was missing.
At the same time, I loved wrapping myself in cashmere. Head-to-toe, it was
my uniform — chic, cocooning, elevated. But it never worked for the life I
was living. Too delicate for the beach. Never something you could simply
wash and dry.
When I discovered the fabric that would become Bleusalt, it felt like an
answer to every problem. Softer than cashmere. Strong enough to wash and
wear every day. Sustainable, made in the USA, and beautiful in a way that
feels effortless. Elevated but never fussy. Casual but never sloppy.
I started creating pieces just for myself — a capsule wardrobe in this one
fabric. And then I realized: this was all I wanted to wear. Every day.
Everywhere. Honestly I feel my best every day in this fabric. I can say now after wearing it
for the last 8 years. There is truly nothing better to me.
